From Dave "Dance to the Music" Brigham:
So, this is a thing.
Based on my admittedly limited research, this seems to be a thing that very few people do. I found these photos on Imgur, and a reference to this odd behavior in Portland, Ore., (natch) in this Willamette Week article from 2006.
So, you're asking, just what albums did you see nailed to these utility poles in Waltham, Mass.?
Don Ho - Tiny Bubbles
The New York Philharmonic - Peter and the Wolf, Op. 67
Donny Osmond - To You With Love, Donny
Fats Domino - Ain't That a Shame
Sly Stone - San Francisco Recordings, 1964-1967
Did this eclectic collection come from one person's vinyl vault? Or did this "artist" hit a used record store with the sole purpose in mind of affixing LP's to telephone poles? Was it more than one person? Is this a comment on society? Did an old guy get sick of these albums? Did his kids or grandkids? Were they put there in hopes that some passerby would take them home and listen to them and fall in love with the music? I have so many questions....
